Maria May | Owner, Studio M Salon Hey, I’m Maria—the heart and hands behind Studio M Salon in Bloomington, Indiana. I opened my doors in 2015 with one goal: to help women feel confident, beautiful, and unapologetically themselves. I specialize in NBR hand-tied extensions and custom color (a.k.a. dreamy hair transformations), but what really sets my space apart is the experience. Think luxury meets laid-back vibes—with a lot of laughs and a little magic. My scissors and I have been around the world—styling at Paris Fashion Week, creating glam looks in Greece for influencer content shoots, and prepping pageant queens for Miss Mundo Dominicana in the Dominican Republic. And while all of that has been incredible, there’s nothing I love more than connecting one-on-one and giving my clients that “wow, is this really my hair?” moment. I’m also a proud mom of two busy kids, so I get how wild life can be. That’s why I’ve created a salon experience that’s flexible, private, and all about YOU. Kena | Studio M Salon Kena is a graduate of Tricoci University and is quickly making her mark at Studio M Salon. She’s passionate about the beauty industry and brings fresh energy and creativity to every client she works with. Kena is now taking clients and offers blowouts, styles, and cut & color services, while continuing to assist Maria three days a week to deepen her knowledge and refine her skills.
